Help UNICEF protect and support children and families affected by COVID-19

You might be reading this while on lockdown yourself, or while watching the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread rapidly and without discrimination, make its way across the world. No doubt you have thought, what can I do? How can I make a difference?

There are other very real and tangible needs you can support to help stop the virus in its tracks.

Please donate to do whatever it takes to stop COVID-19.

The ask is simple: Clean water. Soap. Medical kits. Gloves.

365体育备用网站Handwashing with soap is one of the cheapest, most effective things you can do to protect yourself and others against coronavirus disease. Yet for millions, even this most basic of steps is out of reach. A will help supply essential resources to where they are needed most.

"I wash my hands so germs don't get on them," says Dareen, 6 years.

Children in Al Khader primary school, Jordan take part in a handwashing demonstration. Handwashing is the cheapest and most effective way to curb the spread, however millions lack basic access to water and sanitation.

This pandemic sits against a backdrop of some 3 in 10 people worldwide who are lacking access to safe, readily available water at home to protect themselves. We must act immediately to protect the most vulnerable people who need access to clean water and sanitation and protective supplies. For in protecting others, we also protect ourselves.

With your support, UNICEF will do whatever it takes to ensure children and their families get what they need to stay safe.

Millions of gloves, surgical masks, respirators and protective gear have been dispatched since the start of the outbreak. UNICEF needs critical funds to meet growing global demand for essential supplies.
On 16 March 2020, near the Syrian town of Atme, close to the border with Turkey in Idlib province, a Syrian medical volunteer affiliated with a Turkish-registered Syrian relief organization sterilizes the inside of a make-shift classroom at a camp for displaced Syrians, as part of measures of COVID-19 coronavirus disease prevention.

UNICEF is working to equip and support health workers and other essential services to protect themselves and any environments where children and families may be at risk.

Now more than ever, we count on our donors to continue supporting our mission for those with nothing and no one – despite these difficult times.
